Bio

Native Inglewood, California, triple threat -- rapper/producer/songwriter -- J-Doe, has already accomplished several amazing feats in a relatively short amount of time. The twenty-something musician, born James Smith, initially got his feet wet, so to speak, working under the tutelage of his musical mentor, Ricc Rude, who literally taught him the ropes from a production stand-point. From there, the self-professed "Mr. Better Than Whoever" began constructing his very own street tapes, working with local acts, and quickly making a name for himself in and around the greater L.A. area. Shortly thereafter, and at the behest of one of his mix-tape emcees, J-Doe, himself, was encouraged to also pick up the microphone. J-Doe has since gone on to pen stand-out compositions for a host of major recording artists; including, Jamie Foxx ["Yep Dat's Me,""Sleeping Pill,""All Said and Done," "Let Me Get You On Your Toes (Interlude)"], Tyrese ["Stay," "What Took You So Long," "Fireworks"], Kelly Rowland ["Keep It Between Us"], David Banner ["Dance the Night Away" {Footloose Soundtrack}], as well as being featured on and co-writing additional hit tracks for the aforementioned Banner ["Swag," plus the upcoming singles; "Yao Ming" and "Amazing"], Gorilla Zoe ["Twisted"], Tank ["Take You Outta Here,"] and Fast Five: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack ["How We Roll (Fast Five Remix)"] -- Whew, and that was just in 2011 alone! In addition, J-Doe, who's currently in the lab busy prepping the release of his eagerly awaited, brand new mix CD, the aptly titled Welcome To My Fan Club, tentatively slated to bow in mid-to-late January '12, also dropped a handful of solo joints, most notably his raucous Busta Rhymes assisted "Coke Dope Crack Smack," and its equally infectious remix of the same name, which also hosted appearances from David Banner and T-Pain. Welcome To My Fan Club available Mid 2012...Highly anticipated, still untitled solo debut coming soon! Stay tuned...
